Lake Tanganyika has beautiful beaches that are not populated with many people like other beaches. The water is freshwater and crystal clear and it is surrounded by green short trees along the shore. You can get good views of the lake, good views of sunsets as well as a nice cool breeze from the lake. There are two main beaches in Kigoma, Jacobsen Beach and Hilltop beach.The hills of Kigoma offer a great view of Lake Tanganyika. If the weather is clear you can see across the lake to the mountains of the Congolese side of the lake.
