Our Terms and Conditions

RESERVATION (DEPOSIT & PAYMENT)

To secure your booking, 15% down payment is required to make in advance as per the company policy, the payment will be made via bank transfer or online payment with visa, master card and America express etc.

Deposit and final payments can be made via bank transfer or online payment with your master card or visa card within 30 days prior the tour or in cash upon arrival (USD) . Please note US dollar notes printed prior to 2001 are not accepted anywhere in Tanzania. Transfer details will be emailed on request.

The remain 85% you can pay us a week before tour dates or pay us by cash on your arrival. We will send you a signed and stamped contract by E-Mail confirming the advance payment immediately after receiving your payment.

All bank charges are to be settled by the client respectively. This includes transaction fees charged by our bank. Our bank will not charge a fee for wire transfers but your bank will and there may possibly be a 3rd bank involved. From our experience we see bank fees for wire transfers from $35 – $50. The amount charged for a wire transfer is not dependent on the amount sent.

ONLINE PAYMENT

Payment can be made through our online payment system using credit card at a surcharge of 5%.

Cancellation and Refund Policy

We understand that booking a trip and sending money to Africa may seem somehow risky. Understandably, there are many concerns to keep in mind: what will happen if the new restrictions are put? what if my flight is cancelled, and I miss the expedition dates? What if I catch COVID-19 and am not able to travel?

Eastland Adventures have answers for all of these questions. All tour packages  are financially risk-free for our customers.

Available options if you need to cancel a trip to Tanzania

If you book your Kilimanjaro tour or Tanzania Safari or Zanzibar holiday with Eastland Adventures and for some reasons you are unable to travel, the following options are available:

  1. You may freely change the dates of your Kilimanjaro Tour/Tanzania Safari. Eastland Adventures offers flexibility for our clients – if you have an unfortunate hold-up to your travel plans, you may reschedule your trekking/safari dates for another time. The exception here is if you decide to reschedule your hike/safari in less than 48 hours before the scheduled departure time. With such short notice we would have organized supplies for the trip and paid park entry fees.
  2. Lifetime deposits. Eastland Adventures allows indefinite holds on your deposit; and you will be able to use it for any trip with us in the future. This rule applies without reservation for all our Kilimanjaro Tours and Tanzania Safaris.
  3. Transferability: You can arrange with any friends or relatives whom you know will be coming for tour in Tanzania and let them use your 15% on your behalf.
  4. Cancellation Duration: Cancellations 5 weeks or earlier before the planned tour date are FREE (Exclude transaction charges). For later cancellations we keep a fee of 15 % of the tour price or use it in the future for any trip in Tanzania.

Pricing

Quoted tour prices include planning, handling and operational charges and are based on the current rate of exchange and tariffs. In the event of a marked change in foreign exchange rates, fuel costs or tariff rates and government tax, tour costs are subject to revision. Such increases will be added to the client final billing. Eastland Adventures reserves the right to vary itineraries and prices, and to substitute facilities and hotels of equal or better quality if necessary.

Travel Insurance
Travel insurance is strongly recommended for all travelers to obtain coverage for themselves, travel companions, and family members to cover unforeseen travel issues such as cancellations, interruptions, delays, lost/stolen/damaged travel documents and personal property, medical expenses, and emergency transportation.

Our Responsibility
These tour programs are operated by Eastland Adventures. For certain services like transportation and hotels we contract with other companies.
Eastland Adventures is not responsible for any losses or damages of personal property, injuries or unforeseen expenses incurred by any tour member.

Complaints

If you are not satisfied with the services provided by us or our partner companies please inform us as soon as possible during the tour or after the tour. When we learn about problems soon we are more likely to be able to fix them in a satisfying way.

Health and Safety
All travelers or tour member should be contact the government travel bureau for your respective country for information concerning possible dangers in Tanzania or East Africa.

During the tour it is vital that you follow the advice of your guide(s). Do not attempt to climb Mount Kilimanjaro or mount Meru when you are sick. If you contract a minor illness like the common cold shortly before your climb we recommend to change plans and for example do a safari instead.
